care tips
Our wood species
Our boards and helpers are made exclusively from local woods, primarily maple, beech, ash and partly alder.
The right care for wooden boards
Wood is a natural and organic material that requires special care. To ensure you get a lot of pleasure from it, please follow the following care instructions:
- Please rub the wooden board with sunflower oil on all sides before using it for the first time. This treatment must be repeated at regular intervals.
- After use, always wipe with a damp cloth and thoroughly remove all food residue or wash the cutting board with lukewarm running water and immediately dry it thoroughly with a dry cloth.
- Always allow wet boards to dry upright so that air can circulate freely around the board.
- Please avoid direct sunlight and heat.
- The boards must not be put in the dishwasher under any circumstances !!!
- Use different boards for different cutting tasks. This will prevent odors from, for example, garlic and onions from transferring to fruit or vegetables.
- If you want to avoid strong coloring substances discoloring your board, oil it lightly with fresh, clean cooking oil before using it for the first time. This will make the wood darker, but it will not absorb the color as easily. This will make the board easier to care for and will keep it appetizingly clean for longer.
- Attention: Pyrography and boards can weather naturally when left outdoors . This means that engravings fade and wood turns grey and dark. It is subject to the natural weathering process. You can varnish the board, but moisture will still cause the board to weather over time.
